Hey kids!

I'm still jobless (but what else is new?) but of course you lovely folks who have been helping and supporting and commissioning and cheering me on all this time aren't all in the best situations yourselves.  I would buy you all your own big jacuzzis if I could with attached smoothie machines and flat screens playing director's cuts of The Fifth Element or Labyrinth because you deserve it, each of you.  Sadly, I can't even afford a bucket of warm water and a bootleg or "Nacho Libre" at the moment, so the following may have to do.

I'm putting on a sale at my shop [link], selecting as many items as I can and taking them way down in price.  There's no pressure, of course, but if any of you feel like hopping over there and grabbing up some sale items, go for it while they're there.

Also, and I'm only mentioning this on DA and LJ, there's a coupon code I made for my friends and repeat customers that you can enter at checkout that will give you 10% off your whole purchase on top of the sale price.  The code is VOODOO2, so be sure to type that in at checkout if you buy anything from  me and you'll get a discount at the end.

Go check it out, folks! [link] still adjusting my prices, so new sale items will be popping up over the next hour or so, but have a look around and see if anything suits you.  Get started on that Christmas shopping or that Halloween decorating, and you'll be giving me a job at the same time.

Lots of lovin'!

Well hey, buddy! Looks like I'm unemployed too! Just got let go today, a bunch of BS if you ask me. :Z
BUT. I did have a pretty promising job interview this morning, as well! Hopefully that goes through. :P

TO ALL WHO ARE CONSIDERING BUYING FROM KIT'S SHOP:
Do it already! :D It supports a great artist and you get something amazing in return! ^_^

OH NO. That's complete shit, I'm so sorry. Was it a layoff, or was it total shenanigans, like it was with me? Cause if you want to vent about it, I am your gal!

Man. I'm really sorry, that's awful. I feel for you, and I hope that the job situation where you are is better than in Hawaii -- in fact, I'm certain it must be. Good luck, sister!

Yeah, it was out of no where and kind of got me down...I'm truly am relieved to be out of there, I HATED working there as of late! It was indeed total shenanigans, new management came in and saw that I was only allotted 3 hours a week (or less) and saw no real reason for keeping me. I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I know I was the reason many customers actually came back to that store...I transferred to a different store in the middle of last year and just recently came back, much to the happiness of some customers. I worked for the people, the customer...I did NOT work for the "sales" aspect of it, which I'm assuming was my downfall in the beginning. I'm not a pushy person, and to force someone to sell things they don't believe in is quite the dishonorable deed. *sigh*

I think - just for the sake that Hawaii is an island - it is better here in California, but not by much. I believe we're one of the highest grossing states, yet we're also the heaviest in debt, have some of the highest property taxes, etc....its an all around not-so-great place to live, especially if you move here to "try and make it big". I've been looking for a new job for months, everywhere that hasn't outright ignored me has denied me (working for Gamestop and then being a full time student isn't the greatest track record for places looking for a lenient schedule). This interview I had yesterday is incredibly promising, I've been crossing my fingers day and night for this job...hell, it may even be fun! I know the gal who left the position and apparently loved the job...I can only hope they see that drive in me too!

Aaarrgh, sorry for the rant! >.< I wish you the greatest of luck with your job search as well, I'll be sending out your package tomorrow, packed full of good ju-ju and happy vibes! ^_^

Don't be sorry for the rant, sister, rant on! It's really shitty to get let go, especially right now. This is the worst time to be looking for a job. I'm really glad your interview went well and I wish you the best of luck!

My luck has been really shitty for the past three months, but hopefully it will change soon. I've applied for everything from autism behavioral specialist to scientific data entry analyst to janitor to grocery bagger. It's getting silly.

Good luck, again. We can get through it!

I hear ya, I've only been looking really hard for the past couple of months, but have been applying since last November. @_@ California's hit pretty hard for lack of jobs, there are too many people without work constantly applying everywhere, its almost impossible to stand out from everyone else because there are SO MANY applicants!

My sister Lindsay has been unemployed since January and just now got hired. She's kind of been looking on and off, but truly has been without employment for the greater part of the year. She started applying for anything and everything, trying to get internships for her Communications major and even just trying to get the job as a cook at Panda Express. Its really tough right now. :(

Oo, Autism Behavioral Specialist? That's what I want to do when I get out of school! :D Heck, if they still need someone over there in a couple years, I will totally move to Hawaii just for that. xD I even had a dream that I was going to go to Hawaii last night! Ahh!

Thank you, and good luck to you as well. You only deserve the best, and only the best deserve you! Something will pop up soon for you, I just know it!

Have you thought about trying your hand at tiny-Egyptian gods? Cash in on the whole ZOMGEGYPT!!! thing. Or Norse gods. Loki is bitch-ass popular right now. Or smash into children stories. A little clay Velveteen Rabbit would be awesome, so would a scene from Rumpelstiltskin.

You could do things like have a set of 5. Make four of them available to be purchased individually but keep the 5th aside only for people who buy the set. People eat up limited availability.

Of course this is assuming you haven't already considered this and dumpster-dunked it. >_O

I love the idea and had actually contemplated doing a series of Hindu gods first, but the Egyptian ones are also an awesome idea. One thing etsy does a lot which is a good idea is letting people do listing for "made to order" things, so I can just post photos of things and make them only when someone puts an order through, which I may do which the Sasquatch dolls I posted a ways back as well.

Thanks for the ideas!
