I love your comic, it would be a shame. I know of at least two webcomics that are financially self supporting - Penny Arcade and Questionable Content. Both make their coin from merchandise sales. Both are also in color. Perhaps the addition of digital coloring would increase readership?
Yeeessss, those two are possibly the two most famous webcomics out there, so it's not surprising that they're self-supporting. Truth is, it's nearly impossible so make anything off of a product people can read for free. Merch sales are rough because most base prices are already so high that the artist can't make anything at all unless they jack up their prices to something hideous. As to digital, it's something I've been fighting against for a long time. I don't want to do it, and as things are with my laptop, I'm not actually capable of doing it, nor do I even know how. One day maybe, but with all the projects I have to do right now, it's better if I hold off. I so appreciate that you like the comic, though! It means a lot.
