Another little guy for my shop: [link] Mister Charles Dickens!

I love that he's become, not just a figure of fine classic literature but practically a Father Christmas, with A Christmas Carol being adored so completely all through the years, and brought out again every year as part of tradition. My favorite is, of course, A Muppet Christmas Carol. Can't be beaten.

Take Mister Dickens home this Christmas and he'll read to you from his little book! [link]

Oh God yes "A Muppet Christmas Carol"! My VHS of it is practically worn to to shreds, I've watched it so many times - I checked out the one they did with Jim Carrey as Scrooge, which was very stunning visually, and I actually played the role of the Ghost of Christmas Present in the musical =) But nothing beats the Muppets (I am such a fangirl for them - they really were my childhood).

Charles Dickens is just one of those writers who knew what *he* wanted to write about - he wasn't afraid to show just how terrible poverty in London was, and he created such timeless stories. Love him, and this is just too adorable!

Glad you like it! And yes, I'm with you, the Muppets were a bastion of my childhood as well, and still are! I'm so psyched for the new movie.

Dickens was great, but man, he knew how to make your heart hurt, for sure. Nicholas Nickleby had me weeping like I'd seen a dying puppy!

I saw the new movie with my sister, and we were both rolling on the floor with laughter and crying from all the nostalgia that just washed over us. I really loved what they did - they really stayed true to the Muppets characters and the songs were great as well. I hope you like it just as much!

Man, "Oliver Twist" and "David Copperfield" still send me into crying jags. Still have yet to read "Nicholas Nickleby", but one day I shall!
